An international program to raise road safety awareness in young people

Human behaviour is the cause of nearly 80% of road accidents

Improving road safety means getting all key road safety players involved. As a vehicle manufacturer, Renault has constantly striven to make its cars safer for more than 50 years now.

Even the most advanced technology could never completely offset human error.Human behaviour is the cause of nearly 80% of road accidents.

This is the reason why Renault launched its international Safety for all program in 2000. Its objective is simple: to make young people aware of the basic principles of road safety through education, and teach them road-safety reflexes from an early age.

Today, the Safety for all program involves 22 countries and has raised awareness in more than 8 million young people since its inception. Safety for all is the largest road safety awareness initiative undertaken by an automaker in the world.

Safety is a right and a responsibility for everyone

Road safety awareness must be instilled from an early age so that tomorrow’s roads will be safer. This is why the Safety for all program targets three main age groups:

- Children

- Teenagers

- Young Drivers.

In the long run, Renault hopes to build a genuine "Safety Generation" that is both responsible and able to pass along good behaviour to their elders.

A fun and interactive educational approach

With the Safety for all program, Renault has adopted an educational approach that is fun and interactive. The program has been devised alongside teachers and road safety experts.
